1:76 Scale model of a Bedford QLT produced in die-cast metal. This model is delivered on a black base with an attached clear jewel case ready to be displayed. It can also be unscrewed from the base and placed on your model railway or diorama.
The second release off the Bedford QLT sees it as used by the British Army during World War II. Bedford had been commissioned to produce the QL for military deployment, particularly as troop carriers and between 1941 and 1945, over 3300 of them came off the Bedford production line.
Decorated in the dark olive and blue-black drab camouflage scheme, the interior of the truck is also dark olive. The exterior is rounded off with silver headlights and matt black radiator grille.
The military insignia on the rear of the truck includes the polar bear, the badge of the 49th Infantry Division, first formed in 1908 and which hailed from the West Riding of Yorkshire. The Division was known by the nickname of the Polar Bears as well as Barker’s Bears, after one of their most prominent commanders Evelyn Barker. The Division served in both World Wars, being awarded battle honours for notable service on The Somme 1916, Operation Overlord in WWII, the Second Battle of the Odon and the Battle of Sheldt.
