The Yard Crane is a staple of any goods yard, providing lifting power to transfer goods and other heavy loads to and from rail and road wagons – ready for the onward journey wherever they may be destined. Found in goods yards across the UK, often in multiples to ensure that loads could be transferred without delay, cranes like this were also common sights at docks or any other industrial site where transhipment may be required.
