Introduced in 1966 for Associated British Maltsters Ltd and Scottish Malt Distillers these hopper wagons were known as COVHOPs and were mostly used to transport grain from East Anglia to the distilleries in Scotland. The whisky industry soon realised that these wagons could effectively be rolling advertising hoardings so had them fitted with various whisky brand adverts, but it seems that most were removed by 1973.
