Built by English Electric between 1960 and 1965, the Class 37s were ordered as part of the British Rail modernisation plan. This class was designed as a heavy freight locomotive and some operators still use them to haul goods around the UK. These six axle locomotives had a high tractive effort and could easily handle both freight and passenger services. 309 class 37s were produced and throughout their operational career they had many different sub-classes and operators. 35 locomotives were preserved and over 60 are still in use today. Model 1:43 Scale model of a Class 37 Diesel Locomotive decorated in BR livery. This model features lots of expertly applied details as based on the prototype, a high level of body detail and excellent running characteristics.
